Analogue Art Map is a media arts collective founded by Hugh Davies and his alter ego Marcus Helm. Through architectural interaction, mapping social networks and psycho cartography, Analogue Art Map seeks to record and generate connections between people and locations.
Employing hand drawn maps, retro technology and office stationary Analogue Art Map strives to continue its ground breaking work using only obsolete media.
During the Next Wave Festival, Analogue Art Map will be stashing hand drawn maps around Melbourne. These maps will take you on a wild detours from your busy life. Some maps will lead to exhibitions, private events and hidden locations; others will have you stalking strangers and chasing shadows. Others yet will give you opportunity to leave messages for strangers - and to submit your own maps.
You can create your own maps - or note the details of others' - at Stranger of the Month's office at the Nicholas Building - see here for details.
Stranger of the Month is a collaborative art project produced and deployed with the aid of a Kickstart Development Grant for Next Wave Festival 2008. Next Wave Associate Producer: Tai Snaith.
